Second Commemoration of the Garissa University College Attack
The second anniversary of the massacre of 148 students of Garissa University College was commemorated at the United Nations Office at Nairobi (UNON) on 3rd April 2017. More than 200 guests including survivors, representative of the Victims, religious and political leaders attended the commemoration. A photo Exhibition of Garissa University College was prepared to illustrate the hope and change that took place at the school following the massacre.

UNON Director-General Sahle-Work Zewde opened the event followed by speeches from survivor Geoffrey Grifins, Deans of Students of Garissa University Mohammed Hamo, and Matin Kimani, National Counter-Terrorism Center Kenya closed the event.
United Information Centre, Nairobi partnered with UNESCO and Northern Advocacy Organization, arranged the exhibition and provided its full support.
