Mission Statement: UNDP's mission is to help the people of Kenya to reduce poverty by promoting sustainable human development and fostering cooperation for development among the UN agencies through the Resident Coordinator System, which it hosts.

Agency Activities: The current UNDP supported Country Cooperation Framework (1999-2003) is anchored in Kenya's National Poverty Eradication Plan (NPEP) and the following Programmes and projects have been deployed to assist NPEP implementation

UNDP also works with Global Environment Facility (GEF) and specific Programmes such as the Africa 2000, Small Grants Programme and the United Nations Volunteers, which all help to reach out to the poorest communities in the country with activities to generate incomes, conserve the environment and raise their participation in development.
