4th Africa Model UN ( AfroMUN) Conference at UN Office at NairobiTirus Wainaina
More than 400 youth delegates from East, West and Southern Africa countries gathered at the United Nations Office at Nairobi from March 6 -10, 2017 for the 4th AfroMUN Conference.
The five day conference organized by the AfroMUN Kenya chapter and logistically supported by the United Nations Information Centre, Nairobi focused under the theme: “Becoming Agents of Change”
The conference was opened by Newton Kanhema from the UN Information Centre, Nairobi who spoke passionately emphasizing that the youth were the future and their participation in this conversation was critical. Kenya Government was represented by Hon. Johnston Sakaja who reiterated that the government was commitment to supporting youth in an effort of bringing change. United Nations Office at Nairobi ( UNON) Director-General, Ms. Sahle-Work Zewde closed the conference.
Apart from providing the venue for the conference, UNIC played a role in the invitation to guest speakers and facilitated the discussion at the opening of the conference.
The conference aims to formulate resolutions that will find solutions to Africa’s problems.
