2009 - Middle School Model United Nations

The Middle School Model United Nations (MUN) conference concluded today 30 January 2009. Closing remarks on behalf of the UN was made by Mr. Rudy Van Dyke, Chief of Conference Services UNON.

The conference was supported by UNIC Nairobi and was attended by 750 delegates from 29 schools from Nairobi and one was from Uganda. The average age of the delegates was 13.
The delegates produced resolutions in Human Rights, Ecology, Health, Technology, Security Council and ECOSOC.

In addition to their activities, the MUN students involved themselves with a charity activity where they have helped to raise funds to stem hunger in Kenya. The funds will be channeled to the needy through the Kenya Red Cross organization.
