2006 - The East African Model United Nations

The 24th Annual East African Model United Nations (EAMUN) conference, began on 21 February, 2006 at the United Nations complex in Gigiri, Nairobi . The Director of United Nations Information Centre, Mr. Eric Falt officially opened the four-day conference.
Students taking part come from schools in Kenya, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).
Model United Nations simulate the actual United Nations, where students from various schools act as delegates and take on the challenges of the world in discussing current economic, political and social issues. The conference is expected to pass resolutions on issues touching on economic development, ecology, human rights, health, peace and security, as well as the International Court of Justice.
The EAMUN conference is one of the three such conferences hosted by the UN in Nairobi . The others are The Junior Model United Nations and the Kenya Model United Nations.
