More than 400 students participate in model United Nations in Nairobi
4 February, 2004 -- More than 400 students from 12 schools participated in a three-day model United Nations that took place 4-6 February at the United Nations headquarters in Nairobi.
The students, aged 11-14, debated on a range of subjects including environment, human rights, technology, health and security in an authentic simulation of the United Nations General Assembly, Security Council, and the various UN committees.
UNIC Director Eric Fault welcomed the students in an address at the official opening of the model United Nations, which has been taking place in Nairobi for the last 10 years with participants coming from middle and high schools, as well as universities. The event is shown in the pictures below.
